The Cross Query (XQuery) application is a quick and efficient way of locating information from all NORIS applications. XQuery is capable of searching each application database for matching data and generating the combined results into a single screen format. This function eliminates the need to reference each individual application.

A connection with the LEADS system provides for queries registered within state and national systems. Application security is maintained by requiring permission to process certain queries. Depending upon the type of agency or user level, query access can be limited to a specific set matching the scope of the organization or request. An individual user within an agency can be granted additional permissions as necessary. XQuery also allows for the retention and deletion of existing queries.
