Citizen Online Police Report System (COPRS)

The Citizen Online Police Report System (COPRS) allows a citizen to file an initial report of complaint to their local police department by completing a form on the police department’s website. The report is then reviewed by the police department to determine if the complaint will become an official crime report. Citizens are given instructions on what crimes can be reported.

Each agency chooses the crimes that can be reported online. Sample crimes include:

  • Theft up to $1000
  • Theft From a Motor Vehicle (under $1000)
  • Criminal Trespass
  • Criminal Damaging
  • Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicle
  • Telecommunications Harassment
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Lost Property

Information captured includes person reporting the crime, victim information, incident details, suspect information and property information.
